Friday was my final day of work at The Container Store and what a bittersweet day it was. As much as I was so grateful for not ever having to wakeup at 4:00 a.m. again, the camaraderie that I have lost was only magnified by the thoughtfulness of my co-workers.
Lisa began that morning with the exclamation of ice cream sundae party after we finished truck. Ever the sly one, she killed her two birds with one scoop by showing how much she was going to miss me and motivating me to work my ass off on my last day at the same time.
Later on, BG enters the store for a quick visit on her day off, cake in hand. God bless her...and Chocolate Cream Cake. With truck finished, I inventoried the trailer for the last time with Jinnifer, and would have cried if I hadn't sweated it out minutes before. I hugged everyone a final time and went to rehydrate myself at Trudy's.
This too was bittersweet, because I enjoyed it so much and it was such and easy thing to put together. Getting together occasionally after work is something that you all at TCS can do and I hope you can continue to while I'm gone. We all work together yet don't KNOW each other, and it's those times after work where we let loose that we can really see and know the people we work with. A margarita or two doesn't hurt either. Trudy's made me realize how much I love you guys and am going to miss you.
Please continue to check up with this posting regularly, though I don't know how often I'll be adding. Hopefully alot.
Cheers,
Carlton
